Macallan Launches Latest Harmony Collection with JING

The Macallan Harmony Collection (JING Tea): Whisky Aesthetics, Sustainable Design, and May 2026 Market Value Update

The Macallan has introduced the latest editions to its Harmony Collection for 2025. By blending centuries-old whisky craftsmanship with the ancient art of tea cultivation from the JING brand, these releases deliver two distinctive limited-edition single malt whiskies.

Launch Dates and Tasting Profiles

  • Phoenix Honey Orchid (Launched on August 5, 2025) Available in domestic markets, this expression takes inspiration from a rare oolong tea grown in China’s Phoenix Mountain range. Maturation took place primarily in sherry-seasoned American oak casks. Bottled at 43.9% ABV, it delivers a flavor profile defined by summery peach, apricot, tropical fruits, and sweet toffee.

  • Organic Cherrywood Lapsang (Launched on October 1, 2025) Released exclusively through Global Travel Retail, this variant draws from JING’s reimagined Lapsang Souchong tea, smoked over cherrywood in the UK. Matured predominantly in sherry-seasoned European oak casks and bottled at 44.9% ABV, it offers deeper tasting notes of rich toffee, dates, warming spice, bursts of ripe berries, and charred citrus peel.

Sustainable Packaging Innovation

The collaboration extends beyond the liquid itself to environmentally conscious design. Both whiskies are presented in boxes crafted from repurposed waste tea leaves. By transforming agricultural byproducts into luxury packaging materials, The Macallan reinforces its commitment to sustainability within the Harmony Collection.

Current Market Value Update (As of May 2026)

Approximately 7 to 9 months post-launch, the realities of the retail and secondary markets present a clear divergence in the valuation and availability of these two bottles:

  • Phoenix Honey Orchid: Originally released with an MSRP of $207 (£152), current market data shows prices fluctuating between $159.99 and $349.99 USD, depending on the distributor. Although prices occasionally dip below the original MSRP, demand remains high, with several specialty retailers reporting limited stock or backordered status.

  • Organic Cherrywood Lapsang: From an official SRP of approximately $190–$200 USD in Travel Retail, the strict distribution constraints and high demand have caused prices in the secondary market and specialty retailers to surge significantly. Current trading prices range broadly from $399.90 up to $1,149.99 USD. Additionally, international retail listings show prices hovering between €275 and €350 EUR, clearly reflecting the substantial premium driven by constrained supply.
